The Bodymax 25kg Selectabell dumbbells have been designed in a similar way to the highly successful 32.5kg set, except this time they feature a lower minimum weight to keep the weights more compact.

Design features

Bodymax 25kg Selectabell Dumbbells

The key design feature of the Bodymax 25kg Selectabell dumbbells is the fact that they are adjustable.

By pressing a button at one end and adjusting the dial, the variation in weight plates makes it possible to set the weight to be between 2.5 and 25kg.

By including the smaller weight plates at the ends of each dumbbell, this makes it possible to adjust the weight by 2.5kg increments instead of 5kg. This makes it less of a jump between weights and makes strength increases much more gradual and noticeable.

Due to the way the Bodymax 25kg Selectabell dumbbells work (selecting how many weight plates you want to leave attached to the dumbbell), it can be useful to have some form of rack where the weight plates that you don’t select can be stored.

Similar to the Bodymax 32.5kg adjustable dumbbells, you can also buy this set with a rack which has been custom designed to hold the weight plates for this specific dumbbell.

Selectabell dumbbells vs. fixed weight dumbbells

Although there are arguments for and against each type of dumbbell set, it’s difficult to determine a set which is clearly better than the other. It all comes down to your own personal preference and requirements.

While the Bodymax 25kg Selectabell dumbbells will certainly take up less room than having 10 different pairs of fixed weight dumbbells, fixed weight versions can be quicker to switch between for more advanced training methods such as drop sets.

With the Selectabell dumbbells taking up less space than multiple fixed weight sets, this can make them ideal for if you are trying to make the most of space, or need to take the dumbbells with you to other locations, e.g. personal trainer.

As with any set of Selectabell dumbbells, it’s important you are getting good value for money.

If you think you will be able to outgrow the Bodymax 25kg Selectabell dumbbells then it may be worth taking a look at the 32.5kg version.
