Horizon Tempo T904 Treadmill Review

The Horizon Tempo T904 Treadmill is another of the high quality treadmill products available in the Tempo range.

Design features

While the design is very simple, this treadmill still has some very effective workout programs and has been designed with lots of features to make your running more effective.

As with many modern treadmills, the running deck is cushioned to help reduce the impact on your knee and hip joints.

This also helps in making your running experience much quieter as it cushions your footfall.

To increase the difficulty or simply to provide variation to your training, the Horizon Tempo T904 Treadmill can also be adjusted to a maximum 10% incline.

The 19 stone (125kg) user limit in place is a real testament to the durability of the treadmill and gives it a capacity for a broad range of users, even more so with the large 53″ x 18″ running area you won’t have to be concerned about your positioning whilst on the machine.

The Horizon Tempo T904 heart rate sensors

The hand grip sensors are within easy reach on the horizontal bar closes to you when on the running deck, and can be used for checking your heart rate during your training session.

Being able to check your heart rate is one of the most important things that should come with any treadmill you look to buy. The Horizon Tempo T904 Treadmill also comes with special heart rate training modes that adjust the speed and incline to keep you within your target heart range.

The target heart rate zone tells you the number of times per minute your heart needs to beat to achieve a desired workout effect. It is represented as a percentage of the maximum number of times your heart can beat per minute. (BPM)

As a general rule, the American Heart Association recommends having a heart rate zone of between 60% and 75% of your maximum when using the treadmill or any cardio exercise.

Design features of the main display unit

Although the Horizon Tempo T904 has all the quality and features of a treadmill you would find in a commercial gym, the fact that it can be so easily folded for storage means the design is also perfect for your home gym.

The first features to note on the display unit are the two large recesses on either side of the display console.

While these can be used for storing your water bottle or phone, they can also be used to hold wireless speakers if you want to listen to music without worrying about headphones.

If you look at any high quality treadmill you will usually see that the display unit has been designed to be as symmetrical as possible. This is particularly true of the Horizon Tempo T904 where everything from the LCD displays to the positioning of the coloured start and stop buttons, and even the different workout mode buttons.

As well as being efficient at improving your cardiovascular health, it’s often important that the treadmill looks good, which has clearly been well thought out with the design of the Horizon Tempo T904 Treadmill.

Safety features

It’s important with any exercise to properly warm up and warm down to help reduce the risk of injury. While this is particularly true of weightlifting exercises, it also applies to cardio exercises such as running on the treadmill.

There is a green start button on the main display that will start the running deck moving at a slow speed and can be easily adjusted using the adjacent buttons for increasing / decreasing the speed.

If at any point you feel dizzy or that you cannot continue with the exercise, there is an emergency stop button that will bring the running deck to an almost immediate stop.
