The Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 is the top of the range motorised treadmill in Tunturi’s ‘Pure Run’ range, with a wide variety of features to help you both progress in your training and achieve your fitness goals, as well as making your workouts more enjoyable.
The following product article takes a look at all the important features in helping you to decide whether this is the right cross trainer for you.
One of the first things to notice about the design of the Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 is how slim profile the frame is.
While many treadmills feature chunky supports for the handrails and display console, the overall look with the Run 10.0 has been kept minimalist and lightweight.
For the heart rate training programmes or even just to monitor the pulse when training, heart rate hand sensors have been added to each of the handrails.
If you prefer not to have to hold onto the rails throughout your workout then the Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 is also compatible with a heart rate chest belt.
The generous 50cm x 150cm running area is one of the largest available, although it should be mentioned that if you are looking for a treadmill that can be stored easily, this model cannot be folded.
Ease of assembly
With the entire Pure range of fitness equipment being based around a simple yet stylish design, even setting up the Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 treadmill up takes very little time.
Straight out of the box you have just 7 main pieces to assemble which comprises of the main running deck, display console, pair of vertical supports for the arms, the arms themselves and a safety clip.
You also don’t have to worry about lots of packets of bolts that could go missing, as this treadmill only needs 8. This is thanks to the variety of clever design features that allow the vertical arm supports to slide securely into the running deck.
The safety clip is optional but recommended, as once you attach one end to the treadmill and the other to your clothing, if the clip detaches from the treadmill then the running belt will automatically stop.
With so few parts and such a simplified design, assembling the Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 can take as little as 10 minutes.

Display console design
Similar in design to the display on the Tunturi Pure Cross R 10.0, the main menu options on the 15″ TFT-LCD touch screen display are grouped together and listed as icons down the left hand side.
The main difference with the Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 treadmill is that all the main options are displayed at the same time, removing the need for scrolling through options.
Despite the slim profile, the display console features built in speakers for if you choose to listen to music while training using the media player.
As well as the wide variety of workout types and programmes available, you can also access the internet (Wi-Fi only), carry out a fitness test and even choose a video display of your training with the ‘scenery tour’ option.
Together with all of these options to make your workouts more enjoyable, the basic important workout information can still be displayed if needed. This includes distance, time, heart rate and calories burned.
There are also two clear sets of arrows that can be used for adjusting the incline and speed of the running belt.
Workout programmes and user profiles
The Tunturi Pure Run 10.0 has enough memory in the training computer to allow you to store up to 100 different user profiles and 100 custom workouts.
Being able to create user profiles makes it much easier to keep track of your own training progress if the treadmill is used by more than just yourself.
By storing details about your age, height, weight and maximum heart rate this also makes workout information such as calories burned much more accurate.
While you may never fill the 100 user register, the ability to store up to 100 custom workouts can prove very beneficial to your training. By adding variety to your workouts through changes in duration, intensity and distance you will prevent your body from getting used to a particular workout style, thereby keeping your fitness gains more consistent.
If you then choose to save your data at the end of a workout, the next time you train using that programme you can choose to race against your previous workout time.
Scenery tour is a workout programme that allows you to set your desired course distance and begin your workout, throughout which you will have a video of a scenic running course displayed on the screen.
Heart rate controlled programmes are also available, with 5 different training profiles to choose from. You can set whether you prefer the heart rate to be controlled automatically by the speed being adjusted, elevation or a combination of the two.
Additional workout targets such as time and distance can also be set during heart rate programmes and will be displayed on screen so you can see the values progressing towards your goal.
