The Body Solid Commercial Multi-Press Squat Rack has been designed to have all the strength of a squat rack that is usually found in commercial gyms, but affordable enough so that you can still use it in your home gym.

Equally as impressive as the maximum possible weight load is the number of racking positions. With 14 different racking points for the barbell, this both adds to the safety of the rack and allows for a wider number of exercises to be performed for users of all heights.


Racking point design and safety features

[one_half]The safety that the racking points offer by being so close together is twofold. Firstly it means you can position the bar at the perfect level for starting your exercise. This is important in exercises such as squats where you don’t want to be too crouched over or trying to tip toe when un racking the heavy bar.

The second is that it helps you rack the bar at a height closer to where your muscles fail. If we take the squats as an example again, if you were to get stuck in the middle of the movement then you would have two choices.

Either let the bar drop off your shoulders onto the safety bars, or if you are positioned very close to the racking points then you will always have a racking position right where you need it by simply leaning forward slightly.

It should be emphasised that this should only be done if you are already very close to the racking points, but it is a possibility.[/one_half]

    Weight plate storage and frame design

    With a 1,000lb weight limit for this multi-press squat rack, you will need to be able to store a large amount of heavy weight plates. Body Solid have thought of this and designed two weight plate storage pegs on either side of the squat rack.

    What makes the frame so strong, as well as the heavy duty steel construction, is the angles and positioning of supports.

    The vertical bars that have the 14 racking positions attached have been designed with a 7 degree angle. This helps to keep the center of gravity closer to the middle of the rack when heavy weight is loaded onto a barbell racked at a higher position.

    This will also mean that the barbell supports will stay closer to you as you go through your natural range of motion in exercises such as squats, where the bar will start to move away from the rack slightly as you get closer to the lowest point in the movement.

    There are also a set of padded rubber feet that attach to the base f the frame nearest the weight plate storage pegs as this is usually where the most weight will be.
