Bodymax 7 ft Standard Spinlock Barbell
The Bodymax 7 ft standard barbell is the longest standard sized bar currently available for such a competitive price in the Bodymax range. The standard size makes it much easier to integrate with existing dumbbell and weight plate sets due to the matching bar diameter.

Bar design
[one_half]Whenever you choose a new barbell to use in your home gym, it’s important to make sure it’s compatible with any other weightlifting equipment you intend to use it with first.
The Bodymax 7 ft standard barbell is longer than most standard bars, making it ideal for squat racks such as the Bodymax CF375, but not so suitable for benches with narrow bar supports, like the York B500.
In terms of the bar design itself, the texture of the middle section has been split into smooth sections, which are interspersed with knurling to help improve your grip on the bar.[/one_half]

To protect the weight plates from damage caused by over-tightening the collars, a rubber washer has been added to each end, slid to the base of each threaded section.
This keeps the weight plates tight to the bar without worrying about scratching or cracking the weight plate, depending on the coating.

Locking collar design
A popular style of locking collar for dumbbells, the threaded bar and spinlock design helps to ensure the weight plates stay firmly in place once they are on the bar.
The shape of the collars makes it easy to get a good grip for tightening towards the plates, as well as making it quicker to spin the collar when you want to remove them from the bar.

Benefits to your workouts
[one_half]If you are building up a set of free weights to use in your home gym, this will usually start off as a set of dumbbells, some weight plates, and a barbell.
While dumbbells will usually feature a bar that is 1 inch in diameter, larger barbells such as the Bodymax 7 ft standard version will usually measure 2 inches in diameter.
This would mean that you have to buy two sets of weight plates; one standard set (1 inch central hole diameter) for the dumbbells, and one Olympic set (2 inch central hole diameter) for the barbell.[/one_half]
[one_half_last][/one_half_last]
This is one of the great benefits of having a high quality 7ft bar with a ‘standard’ sized diameter.
Another of the benefits is the price. Although the amount of weight you can load the bar up with is lower, a 7ft Olympic bar will often cost between 3 and 4 times the price of the Bodymax 7ft standard bar, which is usually available for less than £25.
