Leg Curl and Extension Bench – Image Pro II Review

The Leg Curl and Extension Bench by Image Pro II is a fully adjustable workout machine for exercising your upper leg muscles.

There are a few nice design features with this exercise machine that you won’t find on leg developers that come as an added attachment to bench press stations or multi gyms.

Benefits of the Leg Curl and Extension Bench

[one_half]If you were to buy a bench press with leg developer section then it will almost always just have two positions. One for when you want to perform leg extensions and one for performing leg curls.

With this Leg Curl and Extension Bench there are a number of settings spaced very close together to allow you to adjust the leg extension and leg curl bar to an angle that will get the most range of motion from the exercise depending on your natural range of motion.

The resistance can also be adjusted to a higher level and isn’t dependent on any weight tower.[/one_half]

This helps to keep the space it takes up to a minimum while offering you the ability to make small changes to increase and decrease the weight depending on your range of weight plates.

The padded back rest is fully adjustable, which is important for making sure your feet are positioned on the leg curl and extension roller at the point that will follow your leg’s natural range of motion.

Seat design and padding

The quality and design of the padding is also a feature that has clearly received serious thought. The seat itself has been ergonomically designed to provide more padding around your hamstrings as this is where your legs will be pressed into the seat when performing heavy leg extensions.

The leg curl and extension bar being a single length of padding instead of two separate padded rollers means you aren’t restricted with foot positioning. This makes it easier to perform single leg extensions and curls as well as the usual exercise using both legs.

Additional useful design features

[one_half]A couple more features that make this leg curl and extension machine more effective than the leg developers you get on bench press stations are the padding on the feet and handles attached to the sides.

Because of how the resistance will always be loaded on your ankles, the point furthest from your upper body, this will often cause you to rise up in the seat when using heavier weights.

While this won’t cause any injury, it will take some of the range of motion out of the exercise and make it less effective.[/one_half]
[one_half_last]Handles on the sides of the seat will help keep your upper body stationary when performing leg curls and extensions[/one_half_last]

The handles mean you can hold your upper body firmly in the seat even when performing leg extensions with the full 100kg weight limit.
