Barbell rack design features
If you are thinking about buying a new weights bench and barbell rack setup, one of the most important things to think about is how far apart the vertical supports are.
For example if you already have a 5ft or 6ft barbell weights set and are looking for a compatible bench, the Marcy Bruce Lee Dragon Bench probably wouldn’t be the best choice. This is because the barbell rack has a fixed width to support barbells 7ft long.
If you are looking for a rack that suits a range of barbells then it will need to feature an adjustable width setting, such as the Bodymax CF315.
One of the most attractive features of the Marcy Bruce Lee Dragon bench is the barbell supports. Where many bench and barbell rack designs will allow you to adjust the height of the upright supports, the two sets of chrome barbell supports offer much more flexibility.
The shorter set offers a racking point for the starting position of an exercise, while the longer set can be positioned at one of the lower settings to act as a safety point to prevent injury if you get stuck at the base of a lift.
The 10 height settings are clearly labelled on the sides of the frame so you can quickly match up the height of the supports on each side.
These 10 settings are pre-drilled holes through the supports, which allows the chrome supports to be reversed from being on the front of the frame to being on the back. This helps provide you with much more free space when performing exercises such as upright rows and squats.

Bench design features
Although some bench and barbell rack combinations work better when the two are separate, due to the reversible barbell supports and wide vertical frame supports the Marcy Bruce Lee Dragon Bench still allows you to perform all the same exercises.
The leg developer attachment can be added to the front of the bench if you want to perform leg extensions or lying leg curls, or quickly removed if you find it gets in the way of your bench press.
One design feature that is very rare to find on a weights bench is the addition of handles under the seat.
If you have ever performed leg extensions on a cable machine, trying to raise heavier resistance will often cause your upper body to rise up in the seat.
The handles have been added to keep your upper body fixed in position during the leg extensions, which can also help you to lift more weight with better form.
In terms of the different back support positions there are 8 to choose from, varying from flat through to nearly vertical. This is ideal for anyone looking to include flat bench press, incline bench press or seated shoulder press exercises to their workouts.
To ensure you are as comfortable as possible when using the bench, the upholstery is constructed from high grade density foam, with an extra wide section for additional support for the lower back.
